Roles in the music industry
Who’s who in the industry – and what do they do.
Who’s most important at the start for a young songwriter/singer songwriter.
Calling all parents of aspiring young songwriters/artists!
This is a golden opportunity to learn about the music business so you can best support your child. This is the first in a series of workshops designed to help parents navigate the music business and help their child make the best decisions at each stage.
We’ll ask questions like: What are the different roles in the industry? When do you need a manager? Is getting a record deal the priority? What are the multiple ways songwriters generate revenue? What are the best ways of getting your songs heard? How do you create your brand? How do you cut through the noise and stand out? Should you copyright your songs? When do you need to invest in paying a music producer? What should my child be doing now?
Founded 16 years ago, Song Academy is the leading songwriting platform for young people aged 8-22.
At the heart of our programmes is a passion to nurture young songwriters across the world, to develop what makes them each unique and get their voices heard.
Our programmes range from levelling up their songwriting skills (with our songwriting clubs, workshops, summer camps, song feedback reports), to getting their songs heard (with The Young Songwriter competition) and developing their understanding of the music business and how to get the best start (with our mentoring programme, Ad Lib).
We’ve brought together an incredible panel of speakers to give the ultimate online workshop for parents of aspiring young songwriters.
The two hour workshop costs £54.50.
