An immersive & motivational experience for aspiring young songwriters aged 11-18
By popular demand we’ve booked dates to return next year in the south and north of the UK!
Our residential songwriting camps are designed for aspiring young songwriters/musicians to develop their songwriting skills, connect & collaborate on exciting songwriting briefs over 4 days & immerse themselves in all parts of the songwriting process, from finding inspiration, lyric writing, melody improvisation and composition to producing and performing. Our expert team of top songwriters and producers all share a passion for inspiring the next generation.
At each camp, there are only 50 places in small groups of 11-13 year olds, 14-15 and 16-18 year olds. If you’re already writing your own songs or are musical and creative and keen to start writing your own songs, make sure you have a place!
The cost for this exciting residential songwriting camp is £655. This includes accommodation, meals and all songwriting and creative activities during the camps. It is possible to attend for the days – costing £555 for the camp.

The 4 day programme includes engaging sessions on:
Creating song concepts and understanding song structure
Creative lyric writing
Chords, Melody and Harmony improvisation (with some music theory)
Ways to develop your sound and style
Recording and producing your songs
Choir & Band
How to engage your audience
How the Songwriting/Music industry works and latest trends
Masterclasses on song production, chord progressions, melody improvisation and lyrical development
Open songwriter/mic night
Quiz night
VIP professional songwriters night with an opportunity for Q&As
Performances at the end of camp showcase from 2-4pm on the last day.
An excellent team leading the songwriting tuition and wellbeing of every participant
There will be two teams leading the camp, one focused on the songwriting tuition and the other on the wellbeing of participants and leisure activities in the afternoon, extra-curricular activities in the evenings (special guest talks and quiz night/songwriter live nights), going to bed/getting up in the morning and generally making sure that everyone is in the right place at the right time and enjoying the songwriting camp.
There will be a good mixture of focused songwriting work across the whole creative songwriting process, leisure time, song feedback, guest speakers and performance sessions. As always everyone on the Song Academy team will have an enhanced DBS certificate and the right number of first aid practitioners.
